“Construction is officially underway at three downtown properties through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Small Project Fund — a competitive $600,000 grant program developed in partnership with the North Country Rural Development Coalition (NRDC) and New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR).
Current Groundbreakings:
🏢 110 Montcalm Street – Future home of Olio Piro
🎨 113 Montcalm Street – Punky Noodles
🛍️ 102 Montcalm Street – Adirondack Trading Post
These business owners applied in April through a rigorous, independently reviewed application process. Since then, our team has worked closely with each property owner to complete environmental reviews, state clearances, and contractor approvals to bring these projects to the construction stage. Over the past two weeks, ground has officially been broken on all three sites — marking a major step forward for downtown revitalization.
We’re incredibly proud of local entrepreneurs Scarlette, Katie, and William for their vision, commitment, and investment in the heart of Ticonderoga. Their projects exemplify the community’s momentum and the shared goal of breathing new life into Montcalm Street.
The Small Project Fund provides direct support for transformative building improvements that strengthen the economic and architectural character of downtown. Eligible activities include façade restoration, interior renovations, major structural or energy-efficiency upgrades, window and glass replacements, and other high-impact enhancements that preserve and modernize our historic Main Street buildings.
Special thanks to our Deputy Director, who has led this program with exceptional dedication, and to our President & CEO for continued guidance and support throughout the process.
Stay tuned for more Small Project Fund announcements and future funding opportunities for downtown property owners coming soon — together, we’re building a stronger, more vibrant Ticonderoga.”
